Omega VRT350HD

omega vrt350hdThe Omega VRT350HD Juicer is an upgrade from the Omega VRT330. The Omega VRT350HD is a heavy duty single auger juicer. It does not heat the juice and there is very little oxidation or foam because of the low motor speed of 80 RPM. This preserves the enzymes and keeps the juice fresh for longer periods of time.  This is the beauty of a Masticating Juicer.

The Omega VRT350HD is great for commercial use in restaurants, cafe’s, and juice bars. The Omega VRT350HD has “Exclusive Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) Household and Commercial Approval,” which means it is approved for commercial use in restaurants and juice bars.

The Omega is one of the quietest juicer in its market as a result of it makes use of an electrical induction motor.  With none of the  transferring components rubbing together they won’t wear out. And that’s the reason the Omega VRT350HD is one of the most reliable juicers at the moment on the market. The Omega will not be only good to have a look at it is usually household friendly.

The Omega VRT350HD is compact, smaller than a standard blender and much smaller than a food processor. It takes up very little counter space. Putting it together was relatively easy right out of the box .  The juicer is also very simple to operate — only one switch for on, off, and reverse. It comes equipped with a plunger, but I’ve never had to use that, because the grinder grabs anything dropped down the chute. Juicing is quick, too, as well as quiet. Two baskets are included, one for fine pulp and one for coarse pulp; using either does not affect the speed or efficiency of the operation. The pulp that comes out is almost completely dry, letting me know that all the juice has been extracted. For extra measure, however, the pulp itself can be re-fed into the machine to extract any remaining juice.

The Omega VRT350HD performs well for fruit and/or vegetables, even leafy greens. The extracted juice is very concentrated, but can be diluted by running a bit of water through the juicer. Running a little water through the juicer will also provide some advance flushing out of pulp particles before cleaning.

Here are some great features of the Omega vrt350hd:

I got to test the Omega VRT350HD about two weeks ago.  I’ve juiced anything from apples, carrots to kale, sunflower greens and Swiss Chard.  The first thing you’ll notice is how quietly this thing runs, it sounds like a kitten purring while my old Jack Lalane sounded like a jet was taking off in my kitchen. Putting it together and taking it apart is very easy and doesn’t take more than 20 seconds.  It’s a complete breeze to use and produces a high yield of the most delicious and slightly pulpy juice I’ve ever tasted. What’s great about it is that it pretty much feeds itself so you don’t have to keep pushing down and dealing with any jams. It’s motor can move forward and backward which clears up any jams that do happen on occasion.  Just cut up some vegetables, toss them into the chute and let this juicer get to work.  With other juicers,  you have to jam fruit down the chute but this one just feeds itself, it’s actually pretty cool to watch it chew up anything you throw down there.

If you can’t see in the picture, the Omega VRT350HD comes with two exit tubes, one for the juice and one for the pulp. The juice comes out with a tiny bit of pulp which is great for me but if you’re not a fan of pulp, it does come with two different strainers which allows you to control the level of pulp in your juice. The remaining pulp that comes out via the other exit is very dry so you know that you’re getting the most out of your vegetables. With how expensive organic fruits and vegetables are, you might be better off spending a little extra money here because you’ll save in the long run since the yield is much better than other juicers I’ve tried. The juice does come out rather foamy which is common with most masticating juicers which is perfectly fine to drink but you can also scoop it out if it’s not something you want to taste.

Lastly and sometimes most importantly, cleanup is extremely easy.  The Omega VRT350HD is somewhat self cleaning. After you juice, you can pour a glass or two of water through the chute while it’s running to start the process, it does help to get some of the gunk loose outside but you still have to take it apart to finish the cleaning process. Thankfully, it comes apart super quickly and is very easy to clean, taking one to two minutes at most to take it apart and rinse under the sink. It’s by far the easiest juicer I’ve ever dealt with when it comes to cleaning which was a welcome realization and something that will keep me juicing daily.

Overall, the Omega VRT350HD is well worth the price. It produces extremely high quality and nourishing juice that is common to masticating juicers but is much easier to work with and clean than most standard masticating juicers due to it’s vertical self-feeding nature. From start to finish, it takes about 10 minutes to get your juicing done for the day which is much faster than I’ve historically done it and it produces some of the best juice I’ve ever had so you know that those 10 minutes are well worth it.  This is a highly Recommended product!

Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Omega VRT350HD :

My wife and I started juicing religiously this year and have never felt better. We no longer get sick and feel like our immune system and health have gotten better since doing it. I’m guilty of not eating enough veggies in my meals so this is perfect for me to get my fill of vegetables every single day. This juicer is so easy to use and we highly recommend it. On top of that, washing it is pretty easy and straight-forward. Also, just some advice, don’t be fooled by the juicers claiming very high RPMs. Those juicers are actually cooking the enzymes and nutrients in the juice. You want to drink these as raw and pure as possible.  Yes this one is a bit pricier than others, but you owe it to yourself to invest in your health. ( N. Luong)

Omega 8006

omega 8006The Omega 8006 is absolutely a dream.  It is so powerful and has the ability to actually grind ginger, carrots and Brazil nuts into creamy butter.  The Omega is so easy to use and cleaning is a breeze.   Much easier than other juicers.  It makes better juice then centrifugal juicers and doesn’t heat the juice.  Auger juicers do not make so much friction, sparing the vitamins in the juice.
This machine is capable of making peanut (or other nut) butter, however you have to basically grind the nuts (any nut) into dry crumbled mass first, then add an oil to the crumbly mass, stir it up and send it back through for a 2nd cycle re-grind … or a couple of more regrind cycles to get the consistency you want. This seems like a lot of labor, but it can actually save you a lot of money and the nut butter you get is so much better tasting than what you get in jars.  The above works especially well with brazil or macadamia nut butter, both of which are indescribably good, somewhat hard to find and very expensive even if you grind your own.

Cons of Omega 8006:

Overall, I highly recommend the Omega 8006.  If you want to maximize yield of both juice and nutrients from your vegetables and fruits etc. then the Omega 8006 will do the job quite well!

The Omega 8006 takes literally under 3 minutes to thoroughly clean. Literally. Cleaning it is lightning fast! This is especially true if you clean it before drinking the juice when nothing is stuck or dry.

All of the parts to clean (4 parts total) can be detached en bloc from the juicer and brought to the sink all at once. After that, they just need a rinse. The brush provided with the juicer is the perfect size to quickly clean the one tricky part – the grate.

To me, the ease of cleaning is what makes the difference between an appliance I use every day, vs. something I never bother using. I have used this daily. I was deciding between this juicer, and a few others. I’m so glad I chose this one if only for the 3 minute cleaning time.

Other good points: Having a 15 year warranty is fantastic. The juice from the Omega 8006 is wonderful.  Green juices come out opaque and thick, with very little foam. If you want to squeeze the last 1% out of your celery to be a perfectionist, you can always run the pulp through once more.  This juicer is a star at green juices (kale, etc.). It is also quiet.

One juicing tip I’ve learned this year is to send the pulp through again after it has come out of the juicer. This takes an extra minute or so, and it’s worthwhile because it can easily add 1/3 more juice to what is extracted.  Sometimes I send the pulp through twice. The pulp that comes through after the second run is very dry.  To those who are considering buying a Norwalk or Super Angel because you want to get nearly 100% juice out of your veggies, you should know that sending the pulp through twice on the Omega will have almost the same effect.  Even better, total juicing time is still much less than with other juicers because clean up is so fast. Compare the Omega 8006  Masticating Juicer to others.

Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Omega 8006:
I’ve owned a Champion juicer, a Breville centrifugal juicer, and now this Omega 8006. This is by far the most enjoyable to use, and appears quite well made. It’s not quite the industrial quality of the Champion, but close. If you are looking for a low-speed masticating juicer, this is the one you want. It’s very quiet, and wrings every last bit of juice out of everything you feed it. I’ve re-processed pulp from the Omega and gotten at most an extra few percent of the juice from the first run. Very efficient extraction. The only disadvantage I can see is the need to cut things pretty small. The high-speed Champion digests large, whole carrots with ease.   (J Brown)

Omega 8005

omega 8005

The Omega 8005 is incredibly efficient. It juices quickly, and leaves dry, pale pulp (meaning that pretty much all the juice that could possibly be extracted from the fruit/veggies has been). I’ve even run the pulp back through the juicer to see how much more juice would be extracted, and it wasn’t more than a few tiny drops. It is VERY efficient with leafy green vegetables, which is something that other (cheaper) juicers often struggle with.

The Omega 8005 is VERY easy to use. I had no problem putting it together right out of the box (hardly even had to glance at the instructions), and it takes me less than 10 seconds to put back together after cleaning. I really believe that ease of use (assembly & clean-up) is the difference between having a juicer that you use once every few months & one that you use everyday!

It takes me about 2 minutes to clean which is very important. Otherwise I wouldn’t be juicing and I know this from experience with my previous juicer.  I juice almost every day now using up to 12 or more vegetables and fruits. It does a very good job at low RPM’s, so the juice isn’t overheated like many high RPM centrifuge juicers, which can destroy some of the nutrients and enzymes. The juice is still cool after going through the Omega 8005.

The 10 year warranty on the Omega juicers says it all.  A company willing to offer such a warranty really stands behind their product.  This is a wonderful product!

I cannot even begin to describe the taste –  I have good palate and appreciation for freshness.

The juicer is beautiful and would be a wonderful addition to any kitchen. My understanding is that the the Omega 8003 is the same as this Omega 8005 – only the 8005 is silver where the 8003 is white. The 8003 looks okay, but the 8005 is actually gorgeous. It’s also fairly compact & takes up less room than I expected.

One thing about this juicer vs. centrifugal juicers like Breville is that you can’t just toss whole fruits or vegetables into the Omega 8005. The chute is somewhat small. Admittedly, I was a little negative about this, as I didn’t want to spend 30 minutes chopping my produce into tiny pieces prior to juicing.  However, this is not a big downside – and it’s a “downside” that I feel is worth it.  I’ve found that it takes me less than 3 minutes to wash & chop my vegetables to prepare them for juicing, and from what I’ve read, the Omega produces more juice than a lot of the other juicers on the market.  Taking an extra 3 minutes out of my morning to chop veggies when it’s going to yield more (and better-tasting) juice is a small price to pay, in my opinion. (And the produce doesn’t need to be bite-sized or anything; just thin enough to put into the chute, which is about 1.5″ across.)

Don’t hesitate on buying this juicer! I am confident that you won’t be sorry. I can’t imagine having a juicer that is easier to use or produces better juice!  Compare other juicers with Omega 8005.

Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Omega 8005:

First of all, I love Amazon. Never one issue after ordering over many years. And I’m very pleased with this juicer. With a 10 yr warranty, you know this company stands behind their product.  I bought this juicer primarily to use in my Miami Beach apartment (my primary residence is in Pennsylvania). It arrived on time, and within minutes I was juicing away for myself and my family.  It is simple to use, simple to clean and overall, a wonderful product. I even froze some bananas and mango chunks and put that though with the “blank” attachment…DIVINE! The bananas make a thick almost creamy dessert like ice cream. And the mango–WOW… just great. and low fat, healthy. I’m hooked. So much so that I told my husband I was going to put it in my carry-on bag and bring it back and forth—I just didn’t want to leave it behind! He told me, no way—just buy another one for the house in PA. Now, that’s love. can’t wait to continue on my juicing journey!! Try adding some fresh ginger–just a bit–it makes a wonderfully, spicy, metabolism boosting drink! (Marie)
